The 2023 Musclecontest International Sao Paulo Pro show is set for Saturday, May 20, in Sao Paulo, Brazil. As of May 19, only two bodybuilders are on the roster to compete.
Other athletes are eligible to enter up until the athlete’s meeting, so the roster could expand before prejudging takes place. Whether the lineup features two athletes or more, the winner will qualify for the 2023 Olympia 212 contest, scheduled for Nov. 2-5 in Orlando, FL. The two contestants are listed below:

Joao Esdras da Paz Alves
Brazil’s Joao Esdras da Paz Alves will represent the host country in this show. The only competitive experience published about him is from 2016, when he competed in the IFBB Brazilian Bodybuilding Championships. According to Bodybuilding Beautiful, he placed fifth in the 95-kilogram senior class.
Christyan Gomez
Christyan Gomez represents Honduras and has two pro shows to his credit. According to NPC News Online, he placed fifth at the 2021 Puerto Vallarta Pro contest won by Noel Adame, who scored his second of three career victories.
Gomez is listed as the fifth-place finisher in the 2021 Musclecontest Brazil show, which Felipe Moraes won. NPC News Online has Gomez listed under Christyan Ramos for that show.
Gomez has impressive legs and has posted several videos from his training on social media. If he has made them a priority during this prep, they could potentially carry him to an Olympia qualification.

There are currently five men qualified for the Olympia 212 contest, and the winner here will become the sixth. The current list is below, and it includes defending champion Shaun Clarida and 2019 winner Kamal Elgargni.
