The 2022 Olympia prize money, excluding the Wheelchair division, totaled $1,561,000. Choopan finished in third place at the 2021 Mr. Olympia, winning $100,000. His improvement of two ranks in the main event in 2022 quadrupled his winnings via his awarded $400,000 check. Lunsford’s decision to move up from the 212 division to the Men’s Open was not only met with impressed reactions from seven-time Mr. Olympia Phil Heath on the commentary team during Lunsford’s posing routine but ultimately with a $150,000 check — tripling what he won as the 212 Olympia champion in 2021.
