Prescillia Bavoil (69KG) Sets New IPF World Record Raw Squat of 211.5 Kilograms at 2023 IPF World Classic Championships

The 2023 IPF World Classic Championships finished on June 18, 2023, after a week of non-stop world record-setting performances in St. Julian’s, Malta. One of the most well-known athletes in the field was France’s Prescillia Bavoil, a former 63-kilogram world champion, who moved into the 69-kilogram class.

Bavoil’s performance in the heavier weight class was one to remember. Not only did she score gold by a comfortable 16.5-kilogram margin over runner-up Marte Kjenner of Norway, but along the way, Bavoil set a new IPF world record raw squat of 211.5 kilograms (466.3 pounds). Check out the sensational lift in the video below, courtesy of the IPF’s Instagram page:

Once Bavoil set herself under the barbell and inhaled to brace before her lift, it was apparent she had full command of the weight. Once hitting maximum depth with her relatively narrow stance, she can be seen smiling less than halfway through the eccentric — a signal that she knew she was going to rewrite history again.

Bavoil went eight for nine in attempts in her gold-medal performance, missing only her final deadlift attempt. Here are the stats of her performance in Malta:
